epicode Sure, this is not harsh at all. No software is for everyone, people have thier preferences and that is totally OK.
I just want to mention that you probably missed some funcitonality that actually exists, such as tags, albums, filtering, editing metadata and so on. Just take a look at those feature anouncements:
https://community.tonfotos.com/d/309-190-filters-for-searching-photos-using-complex-queries
https://community.tonfotos.com/d/201-version-160-search-by-poeple-names-folders-and-albums
https://community.tonfotos.com/d/158-version-1311-editing-the-photo-location
https://community.tonfotos.com/d/142-version-137-edit-photo-date
https://community.tonfotos.com/d/128-version-130-text-comments-for-images
And there is more. I undestand, when you get used to one software, you expect every other software just approach things the same way. However, other software may approach things from slightly different angle, and therefore things are done slightly differently there. But that is OK, that is all to the benefit of users. You have more options to chose from. Some people still use Picasa, some prefer clouds, some chose Tonfotos.
