Editing a location

Recently, important functions for editing photo metadata have been added to Tonfotos, without which it is very difficult to put things in order in the photo archive - correct orientation, date of shooting, tags, captions and comments. Finally, this version adds the last of the key metadata editing features, location editing. You can call it in almost all modes through the main menu of the application, or by pressing the F4 key.

You can set the location both for one photo and for several at once, having previously selected from the list.

You can set the location as approximately by entering the name of a large settlement in the vicinity:

Also directly dragging the pointer with the mouse on the map of the area:

In addition to entering the name of a large settlement, you can enter exact coordinates in the input line after copying them from the properties of another photo:

If you want to set a specific address or find a point of interest, then the easiest way is to find it in advance in Google maps and then simply copy and paste its coordinates:

pr34ch3r Since Linux users are very tiny proportion of all Tonfotos users, some releases skip Linux. But next release should include all platforms, roughly in one week.

Oh, sad to hear. I am a Linux user and I love your product.

Newbie here - just attempting adding locations for the first time but I am finding I cannot just cut and paste the coordinates from Google Maps into the location box as described above -any help on this would be appreciated.
Thanks

Charlie1729 Can you please clarify what exactly you mean by “just cannot cut and paste”? Screenshot would help.

Thanks - here is the box I would like to paste the coordinates into-

Thats the bit that doesnt work - I have cut them from Google Maps and then I am unable to paste into the Enter Location box

Charlie1729 I guess I understand now what is wrong. You don’t need to cut in Google Maps. You just need to click on that numbers in the menu as on picture, that will put coordinates into clipboard. After that you paste them into dialog. Hope that helps.
