If Control-Key is Pressed Do Not Update Suggestion

Hi,

I’m still sorting images and spend a lot of in the People mode. Often there are many suggestions for an individual and as I go through the selecting process - I’m holding a control-key to select to the end of a sequence. But I’ve noticed that the system sometimes re-populates the suggestions before I’ve clicked the last picture. The application redraws the thumbnails and the order can be lost. It can be confusing. How about holding off on the cascading event if a control-key is pressed?

Pete Interesting idea. We already implemented few tricks to avoid unwanted updates, such as there is delay before next update once you do some actions with faces. However, it seems that you take your time selecting faces, that is why update still interferes with your work. Did you try to break up your corrections to smaller batches instead of selecting each and every outlier? That would actually help to keep suggestions from popping up unexpectedly.

Yes I do go to smaller batches but even then it can be a race. (There are a lot of pictures!)

Having unpredictable screen redraws while I’m currently selecting items can be a distraction. But it’s especially annoying when I try to select a large group that happens to be in sequence. In the best of worlds I would prefer that nothing redraws while I have any pictures selected.

Pete Well, there is another trick to keep in mind. When program provided you with new batch of suggetsions, it will not even try to come up with next one until you do something with this person specifically (such as confirming or rejecting). Please keep this in mind. After suggestions are provided, you can take all the time you need undisturbed, but unless you make any change.
