Install simultaneously on different operating systems

Would like to know exactly what this means. Does it mean that if I have it scanning 3 folders on my Windows, I can see the same 3 folders of pictures from windows on my Mac? or is it just for the people?

If it Is each working independently, then I’ll have to assign it’s own set of folders? then why can’t I just use the free version for each the mac and windows?

mikegyver In order for serveral people/computers to collaborate on same archive of photos in Tonfotos, those computers need to have access to the same physical archive. Most common approach is shared network drive where all photos are stored. There is also an option to use external HDD and plug it into different computers from time to time, but that is obviously less convenient approach.

When several copies of Tonfotos have access to the same files, they will exchange all information about people on the photos automatically. You can read more about that feature here: https://community.tonfotos.com/d/186-version-150-people-data-synchronization

Thank you! One more question, do you see a problem if I use a sync program that syncs the same folder on two different computers? meaning, Mac has it’s own picture folder, and that syncs to windows picture folder, and each has it’s own Tonfotos?

mikegyver You can definitely try this, but with caution, there could be all sorts of issues depending on exact implementation of your sync program. We had reports from customers about thier cloud sync program that sometimes reacted poorly when Tonfotos wrote changes to disk and that occasionally lead to loss of data. On the other hand, it works fine with some other cloud applicautons. So it really depends. I would strongly recommend you to back up all your images before trying.
