hubert Semi-related: to select the person from the dropdown is great when there are only a handful of people. In my case, I would prefer allowing me to type part of their names to narrow down the list then select.

Can you please clarify, which dropdown specifically are you talking about here?

I second this request. I think Hubert is talking about the drop down list when you right-click a detected face to tell tonfotos the correct name. When you use the “This Is…” dropdown menu and you have a lot of people in your database that list can become long and tricky to search through.

I found the most recent update, which added a shortlist of alternate options in that right click menu, helped a lot but it would still be nice to have a search function to narrow the results rather than scrolling.

I have been using the software for about a week now (and I love it) but here is a demonstration:

Ok, I think we need to split this request on two for easier tracking.

Jamie thank you for additional details. I will need to think about alternative approach to that list for cases like this. Any ideas are welcome.

Thanks, Jamie, for the video! Exactly the issue I am experiencing.

A basic substring filtering would help a lot in my opinion. Other software I used before usually just provide an editable name label below or above the face square, so that it’s easier to do partial match (eg, Photo app on MacOS, Picasa Desktop app). TBH I really like the face candidate suggestion. Would like to be able to find a way that combines the benefit of both.
