cdbm1967 Tonfotos only considers file duplicates if they are exact duplicate, byte by byte. Regardless of file name. So it is totally safe to delete. On the other hand there is drawback to this approach - if you edit image metadata, such as add tag to it, it won’t be considered duplicate anymore, as file will be changed. So it is recomended to clean up your archive before assigning proper dates, tags and locations to files.
