I wish I had a way of reporting inaccurate face suggestions to the app so that the AI might improve. I imported 40k photos and there has been at least 500 face suggestions from photos of flowers, carpets, and hands. As I mark the matches as ignore, I’d be happy to submit the section or whole photo to some tonfotos repository for testing AI improvements.

    Are these 40k photos coming from some other photo management software? My photos are in Picasa and I’m noticing after importing to TonFotos, I’m getting rocks, hands, and random areas in photos that definitely are not faces, with names suggested in TonFotos. And the names are being imported from Picasa because I have not had to enter many new names. For me I think flowers and hands as suggested faces is an artifact of Picasa having messed things up (which is why I’ve moved onto TonFotos). Wonder if that’s the case for you? Or is TonFotos your first photo management software?

        Tony These are photos I pulled from my father’s computer after he passed away. The only management software he was using was iphotos (as far as I know). He was an avid nature photographer so there are many, many, many flower “faces”. None of them have suggested names but I considered naming a few in hopes that they would show up en mass in the people tab and I could removed many of them with one ctrl-I.
        As an aside, I wish I hadn’t moved off of Picasa for my photo collection after google bought it. It was such a good app!

          In my case it’s not flowers but dolls, bird heads, pony tails, and the back of heads which are coming up as false positives. So in People view I’m clicking on the first picture, hold shift and click on the last one in a sequence then press SHIFT-BACKSPACE for “Ignore this face suggestion”. By slowly eliminating these, I’m hoping they won’t be used again by the face recognition algorithms. Try doing a mass “Ignore this face suggestion” to see if you start seeing improvements

            Tony Have you labeled them as “people” or are they showing up as suggestions for real people?

              They are coming up as suggestions for people whom I have tagged name to face, so false positives. Do you have some people named already?

                Tony Yes, I do. They show up as false positives for some of those faces and also, I’d say 70%, as new “faces”.
