I have a load of CR3 portrait images that were rotated horizontally. Different viewers display these images different ways, which is a nightmare.
Exiftool shows that there are two variabes, and I guess different viewers do different things with one/both?
Orientation : Horizontal (normal)
Auto Rotate : Rotate 90 CW
Anyway, to get things clarified, I used the Canon DPP4 app to rotate them, exited the app (to force-save the changes - without this, the changes weren’t automatically saved), and tried to re-index the folder.
The cached images/thumbnails still seemed to be all over the place in tonfotos after re-indexing selected files, so
out of curiosity, I tried ‘stop indexing this folder’, and expected to be able to be able to re-add the folder to indexing, which would definitely clear everything up, but … I can’t seem to be able to do that.
What’s worse, the images are still there in the people views, but clicking on the cached images says ‘image is corrupted … undefined’.
Any idea how I could recover from this situation?
I guess i could just move the folder and re-index things to get a second copy, but I’d still have the ‘corrupted’ stuff left.
