  • Adjusting TAGs resulting in Metadata write error on some photo's

Maintaining some tags, I noticed this error on some photo’s

Looking into the issue I noticed that the TAG had some weird characters in it. Removing the tag in windows explorer and rescanning in Tonfotos resolved the issue.

Example TAG:

    Mike I would appreciate if you would be able to share original file that causes error with us on support@tonfotos.com, if you still have it of course.

      Oeps, nope. Send a mail with another example with simular error but no weird tag.

            Andrey OK, error is happeing because files have incorrect EXIF structure, specifically in GPS location. I have added some code that fixes this particular error in structure now, it will be part of the next release.

                Andrey nice might als lead wrong gps.. wel sound promising. Thought it could be something like that, nice and fast finding this!

                    Mike yep, after my changes those files now have location. Before they did not.

                        Hello Andrew, I unfortunately still have this error, while I’ll do have the latest update. Should I sent you some files?

                          Marleen9 Yes, please send files to support@tonfotos.com along with some basic instructions what to do to reproduce the issue (such as what exactly you are trying to edit)

                              Andrey hmmm, it’s hard to reproduce the problem. Cause the problem isn’t consistent I noticed (sometimes the error disappears with the specific photo’s). But I’ll email you anyway with some files and notes.
