import from iPhone does not work
- Edited
Herman I’ve prepared special test version. Can you please install it and try importing again? It will produce two files in Downloads folder afterwards - ‘WDP_tree.txt’ and ‘WDP_list.txt’. I would appreciate if you can send them to me to support@tonfotos.com
Herman Thank you very much. Now I see where problem is. For some strage reason, there is no DCIM folder on your iPhone, which is standart location for images taken by internal camera for all cameras and video cameras, as well as phones, including iPhones we tested with. In your case folders with photos are placed right under “Internal Storage”.
It looks like we need to add special handilng for this case to Tonfotos, but first we need to understad why this is happening.
Do you know anything about it or why is that? Did you change any settings anywhere that might have this result? Do you syncronize all your photos with iCloud? I did quick googling on why DCIM folder might be missing, and most of the articles suggest it has to do with the fact that photo orignials are stored in iCloud, not on iPhone.
Hi Andrey,
Great that you found something !
I do not use iCloud, all is locally stored.
Also didn’t do any ‘fiddling’ in changing it.
It is a standard iphone.
Awesome it works ! Thank you and have a nice weekend

Hi, unfortunately I’m also having trouble importing photos from my iPhone. The import dialog just never even shows up. I’m using tonfotos 1.9.14 on MacOs and I am connecting an iPhone 15 Pro which immediately get’s recognised in the finder but never inside Tonfotos. iCloud for photos is turned off.
Maybe some security setting of MacOs prevents access?
Also I can’t find any import settings in the tonfotos menu, but maybe that’s just part of the same problem.
Ok, thanks for the reply.
