Applying a TAG to multiple photos Grayed out/unavailable

I would like to add tags to multiple photos (now that I’m able to find them with tonfotos!). But when I try to add a tag, I’m only given the option to add to albums and the tag options are all grayed out. I don’t want to create albums for every tag I would like. How can I add the tag to multiple photos?

Michelle This option in the menu can be grayed out in these three cases:

Some of selected files are located on drives that currently are disconneted (like disconnected network drive, or external HDD)
They are connected, but in Read-Only mode.
Some of selected files are not in JPEG format. Currently, Tonfotos can only change metadata of JPEG files.

Thank you. I discovered it was video files.

Does Tonfotos do anything to organize videos as well? Organize by date? Tags?
Is there a way to manually specify which people are at least in the video? Or do we need to manually add a tag to each file in explorer with the name of each person in the video?

I’ve debated on what to do to include the videos in my organization. Not sure if I should (a) move them to a separate folder in the main archive using year-month-day-videos or (b) move them completely to my Videos folder and organize them using the same year-month-day folder structure or © if I should do something else. I’m just trying to figure out how to organize the thousands of files I have so I can actually find them by person, event, date, etc. and not have 15 of the same one in 15 locations.

Tonfots works with videous just like with images, but with some limitations: it does not recongize faces and can’t change meteadata (set date, title, comment, location and tags). Everhing else works the same - you can move them arround, add to albums, delete duplcates, and so on.

There is no universal answer to that, people have different opinions on best archive structure. I for example, used to import videos from the camera to separate archive, also with year/date strucure, but later I stopped using camera and most videos now come from the phones. Now they end up in the same archive where all photos are. And I find this more convenient, but I stil have that old CAMERA archive… 🙁

Michelle, creo que la mejor solución para la NO DUPLICACION de archivos es el uso de etiquetas.. aun asi, yo tengo año…. y luego dentro los eventos estilo: 202401 Viaje Dinamarca .. y una carpeta para el resto: Resto 2024
