Having said all that, I return to the Picasa way of displaying folders which is very powerful and I don’t see how you can easily replicate in Tonfotos (which is a real shame) - assuming I have my photos organsed into folders which represent the “Event”. All folders are shown according to the date order chosen (e.g. date created, ascending/descending). The folder date itself can be changed so that you can place (for example) photos of various dates under a single folder and assign a “sort by” date. The folders are then grouped by Year.
This means that I always have my most recent folder (event) at the top. Logally, this would be a view option in the Events tab.
The “Events” tab sorts by actual photos rather than folders. Multi-day events (or even artifical “groupings”, such as “London 2025 Misc”) are therefore spread.
Also, on this tab, when you have photos from many decades, it becomes impractically squeezed into the single screen height (maybe Year/Month would help). You should at least be able to scroll.
