Recovering deleted persons from the master person list.

As menioned previously, I recently deleted a person’s name on tonfotos in error.

The software will now not recognise that name for any faces on the host pc and when I tried to use another pc to scan and index my photofiles on it, I was able to see the facial reconiton of this individual but then these were also deleted again from both computers, and the indivual would not be recognized.

So I thought I would come up with a work around and I created another name for the person I deleted, but tonfotos is not identifying most of thier faces in my photos.

Is there any way to remove the deleted name instruction for this facial code from your software so that the facial recognition will work for this indiviudal?

Not sure if this should be listed as a bug or working with photos.

MelFish I’m afraid, this is a bit too complicated to understand what is really happening in your archive. There is a chance though, that initial deletion was not your mistake, but a bug in face information synchronization. I recently found some (very rare) condition in the code that was not handled properly and never appeared in my (quite extensive) autotesting. I fixed that, but I guess that this condition might actually appear in real life and lead to conflicts during synchronization of data between several computers. Not so sure that woul lead to deletion of the peroson though, but might bring some confusion to your data.

I guess there is already some confusion in your data in your archive, that is the reason you are experiencing issues with that person. However, it is really hard for me to even guess what exactly is wrong since I can’t inspect data myself. Maybe I will be able to do some digging if you could provive me some more detailed data via email, as well as share your tnfp and some ini files. Also, very detailed description of what steps you take is a must.

I will continue to work on the challenge from this end and let you know my progress.

By changing the persons name to a new one I have been able to now recover about 1000 of the 4000 missing recognitions of this personon one PC. I am going to open tonfotos on the 2nd pc and hopefully see what happens as well.
