Stuck on scanning network folder

Hi there! I’m new to the program, testing it to manage photos on my Mac (M1).
I’ve noticed that the network path (basically a webdav) to the library does not load. The app status I keep seeing is “Scanning Network_drive/XYZ”. There are no progress indicators nor have any new files and folders popped up in the folders view.
How do I ensure that progress is taking place? Are there folder size limitations?

rb_imager There is no folder size limitation per se, but if your folder contains hundreds of thousands of photos (not in subfolders, but right there), there is known issue that program takes much longer to process those folders.

There is status string down below main application window that shows that is currently being processed. What does it say in your case? Do paths change or it is stuck on one file or folder?

Andrey Another observation is that if the path becomes inaccessible for any reason and then reconnects, Tonfotos doesn’t seem to detect the path being available again and resync missing photos/videos from its library.
When I force sync with “Rescan Folder” option, the program status bar (at the bottom) loses indication of progress bar and only shows the current file/folder it is syncing. A more transparent behaviour would be to first determine the diff and determine sync progress made based on % completion of the diff.

Hey Andrey, it was stuck on a folder inside the path. Some more technical details, it was apparently a WebDAV path built on AppleScript instead of the standard HTTP. Removing the library and adding it again as a FUSE mounted library helped the app, so I assume there is some issue with the app handling non-standard WebDAV paths. I did have to restart my Mac twice to flush out a weird behaviour where the app refused to open finder for adding a new path to the library. I am using the free version so maybe you might have the logs…

No, I don’t collect logs from users, just a bit of usage statisics.

It will detect, it does check availability of remote folders periodically, couple times per minute. So if you give it some time, it will start scanning automatically, and will show progress and time prediciton.

Yes for now this issue has been resolved. I guess for resync detection i need to give it more time than expected so it’ll be fine. I’m liking the software so far!
