Janusz Tonfotos is synchronising data using .ini and .tnfp files that are stored next to photos. In order for that to work, you need computers to work with the same folder with photos, such as stored on shared network drive, or cloud drive, or on external hard drive that gets passed from one computer to another.

As you .ini files, they contain data about association of faces with people on the photo, and stored in same folder where photos are located.
