I’m genuinely surprised that I seem to be the only one requesting this feature. While I understand that it might not be deemed a high priority for implementation, I’d like to highlight that I have a significant number of older pictures predating the smartphone era. The majority of these images are incorrectly oriented, a common issue from the time when I used film. Interestingly, the CDs sent by the film company with the developed pictures were consistently misaligned.
Consequently, I find myself with a considerable collection of incorrectly oriented photos. Additionally, I’ve hesitated to manually rotate them, as I’ve observed, as others have mentioned, that this action removes facial tags. Therefore, before making any adjustments, I’d like to identify a practical solution that ensures optimal handling of the issue.
Regarding relationships, I’ve noticed that the need for specific tags extends beyond second-degree connections, particularly when trying to label someone as an “Ex-Wife” or “Ex-Girlfriend.” It has become apparent to me that having customizable and nameable options for such relationships would greatly enhance the usability of the application. Considering the size of my family and the existence of cultural titles that may not be universally recognized, I believe it’s crucial to assign names and tags to individuals in these pictures. This way, anyone, whether unfamiliar or not me, could easily interpret the relationships within a group photo.
Upon reflection, I came across a YouTube short that shares similarities with my idea

albeit lacking the feature of displaying a person’s profile upon clicking. Integrating such functionality, as you suggested, would be a valuable addition. It’s imperative that this enhancement seamlessly integrates with tonfoto, preserving the program’s simplicity that I find appealing. I aim to avoid the hassle of switching between multiple tools and duplicating information across platforms, especially considering that these photos are interconnected within a family tree.
I’m enthusiastic about contributing and assisting in any way possible. Additionally, I’m curious about the process of copying all the information and transferring it to another PC. Could you provide guidance on how to accomplish this?
