Same Photo Library - Different Computer

I’m planning on purchasing a 5-user license of tonfotos and have a question. I want to assign one of the licenses to each of my children and also give them a solid-state drive with the pictures on it where I have already tagged people, input personal info and such. When they install tonfotos on their computers, and attach the drives I give them with the info I have input, will this information already be there for them (embedded in the photos on the drive) or will they need to start over again inputting all the facial recognition information, dates, etc.?

Steve Ohio as to facial recognition information, it will be saved to your archive in the form of .ini files. Therefore, when other computer will index this archive, it will pick up people information right from the start, All confirmed faces will automatically be assigned to proper people.

However, detailed information about people (such as relationship and so on), will not be synchronised, unfortunately. This feature is planned for future versions.

So when my wife and me use the same folder (sync via cloud service) it will work with the face recognition?

pr34ch3r this is really hard to tell, I would encourage you to test it first. Tonfotos does everything it can, and for regular shared network drives it works perfectly. But cloud sync service may have its own issues, so I would say this is implementation dependent.

Sorry for reviving an old thread but I have a similar use case, where I want to have the library on my Mac and PC using photos stored in the cloud and I have some questions:

Do I need to purchase 2 licenses if I don’t intend to use the app simultaneously on both desktops? (I am the only user)
The same cloud files are in different paths on the 2 desktops, but are the same structurally. Is it possible to remap the file info from the first desktop to another?
You mentioned something about ini files used for storing the facial recognition data.
1. Where can I find it in Mac?
2. Is it possible to move it to an external location? (that will be shared by the 2 desktops)

Yes, this requires two licenses.
Not sure I understand your setup and what you mean by “remap”. In any case, that very much depends on could you are using.
ini files are stored right next to the photos, in the same folder. So, if photos are stored on shared folder, ini files will be stored there too, and both computers will use it for exchanging information about people on photos.
