Image corrupted

I recently renamed all the folders in my library. Tonfotos is still accessing images from files with the old names and saying the image is corrupted. At what point will Tonfotos stop referring to old files and stop showing thumbnails from old files. I’ve attached a screenshot. It show an image which is till alive and well inthe newly named folder but not the old folder referenced in the image corrupted message.

Bob42 Please go to “Library locations” dialog and check the path to the root folder. Usually there is an option to fix it if it is not available.

Hi Andrey. Thank you for responding. I have 10 main folders in my library. The names of the folders have NOT changed. I changed the names of subfolders with the main folders, In the attachment I added to my message, the subfolder CARArch09:03-04 changed to CARArch2009:03-04. All of the images remain in the renamed folder. In this case IMG_3689_0005_a.jpg. This image is no longer in the non-existent subfolder CARArch09:03-04. It is in the newly renamed subfolder now CARArch2009:03-04.

All of the inages in the former CARArch09:03-04 are now in the renamed folder CARArch2009:03-04. CARArch09:03-04 is no longer in my library. My question is: When does Tonfotos stop referring to this non-existent folder? When does it remove the thumbnails from this nonexistent folder?

Bob42 That depends. If the root folder is still there, but there are some changes inside, usually Tonfotos will notice that pretty fast and will update its index to reflect state of the file system.

However, since in your case programs still did not notice that files are not there anymore, that probably means the root folder was also renamed and is not available at old location. In that case you need to fix it manually in the Library locations dialog as I mentioned that earlier.

When I look at all the folders listed on the left side, they show all of the newly renamed folders. When I open any folder, the correct folder is displayed.

However, when I look at people, in a number of cases, i get the image corrupted message and the image link is to the older folders which have now been renamed. When does Tonfotos get rid of thumbnails in the people section which were originally in the old folders which I have renamed?

Normally, the same moment it sees that path to that file does not exist anymore. If program still has faces referencing to non-existing files, that is probably due to some bug.

Can you please user re-index on on one of files like that. Does it help?

@Bob42 selecting on the left side -rescan folder. Wait. Wait.. does it make any changes ?

The left side list of my folders shows all the folders which I have renamed. My question is simple. When I open some of the people images, I get the image corrupted message. The image reference shows it is referencing photos in the old folders which no longer exists. Why is it still referencing photos in folders which no longer exists. When does it get rid of images from old folders.

I dont know how it does the reading, index or saves a history of what it had…
But restart software and reread folder. ?

I’ve removed the affected library file and then reinstalled it. Tomfotos is now reindexing the images. Hopefully this will correct the situation. Thank you for all the suggestions.
