Okey, so this is how I I have tried different senarios - how Tonfotos will react since my collection is rather large.
1.)
NAS drive with a one folder MyPictures with underlaying folders.
Then I add this one folder R:\MyPictures\ to library.
(+) its is simple to add single folders with underlying folder and “face, dossier etc is inherited to all sub folders”.
(+) its easier to maintain face, dossier etc on a few folders.
(-) This makes the config.json only keeps one folder record.
(-) This makes the timer down in the left show 92h left scanning is showing 74h, 68h and does not seem accurate.
(+) if I make changes to folder inside, it would automatically pick up the changes in the folder structure and rescan
My tought:
Would be nice if it would list all the folders underneath the “one folder” i selected, and I could controll which folder should have face id and not… with more easily selection, and not one by one…
2.)
Adding all separate folders I have under R:\MyPictures*.*
(+) makes the config.json keep track of all the folders with more information
(+) makes it easier to disable face, dossier etc on each folder
(+) makes the timer in the left corner more correct as it gives the time for each folder its curently scanning
(-) its makes it a time-consuming job to go through all the folders and have to enable/disable face, dossier - this should be able to multiple select. This would also help to not look for face in a folder that is from a fotball match which dosens of unwanted faces.
(-) it does not pick up changes made to folder structure, and I have to manually add the folder again AND remove folders
My thought:
Would be nice if I could easily select folders I would like to have with face id etc… (multiple select)
