Sibling relationship

A marriages B, their children ABA
A divorces B and marriages C, their children ACA
ABA is half-sibling to ACA.
Would be nice to have a half-sibling relation in the program and when I look at C’s tree, ABA should not be the same as ACA. Or a “divorced” term, so they will appear somewhat different.

Maybe that is the same scenario as Paco Cabrera pointed out, but I noticed “disturbing” as well.

I am not sure I understand your proposal. Can you please describe in detail what you see now and how you would expect to see that instead?

Maybe a workaround is to make two faces, one with old marriage and one with new.

Andrey , thanks for the quick response!

I see in C’s family tree both ACA (+ACB,ACC) and ABA (+ABB,ABC,ABD) appear as A-C’s children. Which is partially correct, yes, C is married A, hence the relation to ABA should be there not only ACA, still it is quite confusing I think.
I’ll think of a proposal as I’m too not sure how to visualize it.

One idea maybe, if I’m seeing C’s tree, AB(A,B,C) children should be dashed line, while AC(A,B,C)s firm line?

babago It is confusing, yes, but the situation itself is prety confusing, so that is quite natural, I think. There always be some non-traditional relationships in familial history, and I don’t think there will always be be a clear way how to demonstrate it on the tree that would be balanced and nice, wihtout line iteresections, people duplications and so on. There will always be a tradeoff between accuracy and artistic value, I believe.

I’ve also tried different software for this. Problem is that people break up 😉.
There is no easy way to make this without crossing lines. I’ve seen in other programs, that when you click “the new partner/spouse” the view would change, removing the other brench of the family.. and only showing the “new familiy” with the “new partners kids and parents etc”.
