The applications crashes, is it memory allocation problem ? Could you actively allocate and “lock in” 1-2Gb memory straight up when the program starts. I’m probably jumping to conclusions here, but I’m having problems with the applications crashes. And other programs are still running… (I have not seen any other programs crashes).

Stig No, that seems like program bug, this log says there is more than enogh memory. Can you please send this log to support@tonfotos.com?

Hmm.. wondering if this is because the antivirus turns itself on after 24 hours..

Would it be possible to make the debug report a bit anonymous, then its easier to post here as well.

Not sure I understand, can you please clarify your concern?

Some folders and images are with names and phone numbers etc..
I know the debug prints out a lot which is good of course for debugging.
But a way to sanitize the debug report would be easier for people to submit reports I guess..
I have not way to recreate the fault ,as this happens random. But most times I get a Java pop-up message when the error occurs.

Well, I am not sure there is actual problem to solve. It does not look like people are hesitant to submit thier crash dumps to our support email. Posting them here was never the goal.

Well, I was thinking it would be easier for people to report in when things happen AND easier for your to analyse the debug report.

Stig Theoretically yes, but as I said, experience does not show it is actually a problem.

Oh, I seriously doubt that. It is definitely easier to work with unedited logs.

Hehe, yes thats why we keep our photo off the internet and local. That is possible also why sending a log to you might be easier if the log would be more easier to send over.
Adding line numbers in the log and make it anonymous so we can easily see which line in the original log that creates problem, like filename, fil format, corrupt files etc.
Its just an idea 🙂.

Stig The thing with logs is that is usually being used to debug new problems. Once problem is known, it is usually fixed already. So the log is the tool that help us to see patterns that we don’t know we will need to look for. If we would know what we are looking for, then we typically would not need logs. With that said it is really hard discuss any “improvements” regarding logs. Any “improvement” like that can actually make debugging impossble in some situation. Or may help instead. There is impossible to know in advance, what exactly information will be needed and what we can safely omit. Sanitizing logs is basically omitting significant portion of information that might appear sensitive, but might be also critically important in some future situation.

We all know that whats put on the net stays there, so thats why I think a good way would be to help people easier submit logs to you - when they have problems. Also then people can also easier relate to having the same problems.
But I do understand that there is developing time.

If a user has problems, they activate the logging feature. Then after the crash, they open up tonfotos, click the “get-sanitized-logg.zip” and you would .zip up the log file which we could grab and send to you.

I dont see anyone else responding on this, so maybe I’m running wild here 😃 But getting feedback from customers with large collection of data would improve the code I would think. My db at the moment and still reading..
