Adding SubFolders within Main Digital Photos Folder

I create a new SubFolder within the Main Digital Folder that I have pointed TonFotos to, every 3 or 4 months.
At the beginnging of November (a month and a half ago) I created one named “Holiday Break - 2025”
I’ve now noticed that no pictures that I have stored in that new folder, have any identified “faces”. They have perfectly good images, but even though I have executed the “ReIndex” command several time on the folder name and on multiple files within it . . . . no faces are identified (some of which have hundreds of identified faces in the other folders)
Suggestions??

Viking Please check settings for that folder in Library locations dialog (call it via main menu). Is facial recognition still on for that folder?

Indeed, the facial recognition switch is on for the main photo Folder "Pictures Archive’ and for all subfolders, including “Holiday Break - 2025”.
I’ve double checked the list of “Ignored Folders” and the folder “Holiday Break - 2025” is not included in them.

And still no faces? Did you install CUDA? Sometimes it might act wierd, please remove it and try again.

And a tips for you @Viking is that after years of making folders… I would recommend using at least “YEAR description” in that order, cause otherwise you’ll end up difficult to sort in i.e. file explorer. I will not push anything 🙂 but I feel that having
“Year-Month -Describing text” on the folder name is a good way to sort both in file explorer and it adopts nicely into Tonfotos as well.
If you “click each folder”, you will see that Tonfotos starts adopting and scanning the folder more… (about right?)

Check under pt 3 which settings to use. I enable them all. Although the video files are added, they are not playable, but thats just fine. I use VLC.

edited: now that I see your structure I understand the Holiday - year thing… anyways, reverse it would be my recommendation 😉

Thank you for the recommendation, Stig.
May I assume that because the “tonfotos.ini” file will remain in each folder, the registrations created by Tonfotos will remain, without harm?

Not because of tonfotos.ini, that is only imporant to save information about faces etc..
But mostly changing names on folders to easily sort them in chronological order later, staring with latest date first og last.
But I see you have another structure than I have 🙂 I have pictures from different places, occasion, birthdays and happenings. I like to give titles to all folder about -what the photos are about. But I see your structure is different, so naming your library will sort
2003 Holiday..
2003 Jan-mar
2004 Holiday..
..and I see that will cause the structure of yours to be a bit different and maybe becoming abit odd.

Thanks again for your reminder on the NVIDIA Cuda thing. That was the problem!
After deleting all of its program files and the Tonfotos plugins . . . . facial recognition works again!
