I’m finding Comments in TonFotos to be useful for added information about a particular photo. For me comments have a different use than tags. Being able to search by comments would be very useful. For significant events (trips, parties, weddings, etc.) I’ll rename all the photos (e.g., “Road trip home town Nov 2025” + sequential numbering added automatically by Windows File Explorer). Then for particular photos I’ll use comments to add additional information about a photo, e.g., “deer with fawns”. My comments are very specific and don’t warrant tags.
I understand that the comment field in the metadata would need to be added to TonFotos index so more space demand and processing. The similar feature in Google Picasa was very useful.
