Stig Thank you for sharing your feedback. There are definitely the ways how to improve duplicates functionality, and I keep few ideas in mind for later.
The approach of Tonfotos to duplicates is quite unortodox, as you probably noticed. I saw no other application using same approach. As I said, there is whole market for dedicated duplicate finders, but they all work differently (though similar to each other). That is why I think it was important to let the dust to settle down at first after this functionality was first introduced. Let people get used to it, understand it better, provide feedback. Since then few improvements were introduced, though not so much improvements to original instrument, rather than alternative tools to deal with duplicates, such as “delete all other copies of selected files”. However, the main duplicates function is still in its original shape.
I see that people still struggle sometimes to understand how this tool is working and how to use it better. That is what mostly keeping me from developing it further. But still I have some ideas how to make it more usefull, and what is most important I am still convinced that this unorthodox approach actually makes a lot of sense in the context of photo management, and I still have no alternative ideas how to address this problem better.
Hope that makes sense.
