I’ve noticed in the last few versions on my pc that rotate clockwise or anti-clockwise does not display the image as rotated. Not sure why. I see this when I am identifying faces and I double click on an image then right click and select rotate. The image just stays rotated incorrectly.

selwyn In-place rotiation is supported for jpeg only, Can you please check if files in question are jpeg?

Yes, definitely jpeg images. I just tried it again. a box pops up briefly the first time (I didn’t catch what it said) but no rotate. Strangely it seems that the image recognition goes away for that image also if you rotate the image. That seems like a bug also. Do I need to make a separate issue for that?

    I am using a Windows 11 PC.

    thanks

      selwyn This sounds like bug.

However, when you rotate image, all old faces get deleted, and this is intended behaviour, not a bug. Program will then find and recognize faces anew. Face recogtion is very depenable on image orientation that is why there is no point in keeping old recognition data.

Let us try to figure out is this issue with rotation or just diplaying results of this rotation. If you leave image view mode after rotation, will thumbnail be rotated or will it remain not rotated too?

Then? can you please re-index image using context menu? Will it be rotated after that?

Here are some options I tried

      1. I open the image with double click

      2. select rotate clockwise

      3. notice image doesn’t rotate

      4. escape

      5. thumbnail is rotated clockwise

      6. in thumbnail view, right click and rotate image clockwise

      7. it appears rotated clockwise in the thumbnail

      8. double click the image

      9. the large image appears rotated clockwise

I tried reindexing at various points. This does not appear to impact anything incorrectly

selwyn Thank you for detialed algorithm! That narrows it down. I will check on my end and be in touch with you.
