When importing and creating folders with dates, are the dates taken from File Date or the Date Taken in the Exif data?
Also, it there an option to add location name of the photos to the folder name?
Thank you.
brooksrimes During import program reads file metadata and tries to determine what is actual date of photo, and then uses it to decide the folder where to put it. However, this much more complicated process that just looking into Date Taken field. There is around dozen of different fields where program looks to in order to identify original date.

Right now there is no option like that.
Thanks for the reply, Andrey. We took a trip from the USA to New Zealand and it caused a problem with photos on our iPhones. Many are off by a day. The File Date is different from the Date Taken in the Exif data. Quite a headache!
brooksrimes I guess this is due to different time zone. Files get put into folders based on your local time zone, while files were taken on the other side of the globe, so border between the days are shifted by many hours.
Yes, we crossed the international date line.
