Calculate face suggestions

Hi,
I added 1TB of content, mostly family photos.
It asked me for persons, once confirmed he added more photos for me to confirm.
The problem is - it asks about few photos, once i confirm i have to wait for it to calculate and then over and over and over - it takes ages.
moreover, most of the suggestions he asks me to confirm are pretty straight forward, it’s obvious that it’s the same person.

So i select all, confirm, wait for another 30-60 seconds for it to offer me another 100 photos… say each 100 photos takes 1 minute, and i have thousands of photos for this specific person (not mentioning there are more persons)

I was sure that after it took few days to scan 1TB of photos the face recognition will be simpler…

isn’t there a way to simply let it add all persons (similar to google photos) ?

Chapi Well, we also wish AI would be much smarter, but it is not. There are technical limitations, and the current process is optimal balance between amount of manual work and the accuracy. You mostly confirm, at least at the beginning. If there would be less confirmaton work, the accuracy would be singnificantly lower.

As to “similar to google” topic, with current Tonfotos semi-automated process you can correctly markup close to 100% of hight quality faces (loking into camera) and more than 50% of lower quality faces for people you care about. Many people who have been trying out many different alternatives confirm, that Tonfotos is currently much better than any other tool or system out there in marking up people faces on photos. It finds more, and is more accurate. However, this is exactly thanks to this iterative precess.

With that said, I’m afraid you should be pepared to actually spend some time working on this, I am afraid. The end result worth it though.

Well, the fact that I should spend hours over hours for each person makes the use of tonfotos simply useless (sorry to say that).
It might be good for people with a small photos collection and few faces, but when having 1TB of family photos, google photos simply makes a better job, as it automatically detects all faces with very few verification.
And that is putting aside the fact that it took few straight days to scan 1TB.
Had high hopes, the application looks great…
