Sorting by date

Hi!

Loving using Tonofotos so far. My main goal is using it to keep an overview of my family photo’s, the amound of baby/kidphoto’s quickly gets out of hand. So I mainly use the ‘person’ identifying feature to scan for any photo’s of my son so I can select and keep my favorites and print them. However, After my initial big job of training the software to find my son (which it does great!) I don’t get how the software sorts the photo’s. I downloaded all of his photo’s locally and sorted them by date (so I can make photobooks per year), but now when adding photo’s, I’d like to only download the newest ones, but I don’t think there’s a way of sorting the photo’s by date?

Anyway, happy with how it works so far, still trying to figure out how to best use it for my specific goal.

I am not sure I completely understood your process. What exactly yom mean by “downloading photos”? Are you importing them from your phone? If that is the case, Tonfotos remembers date of last imported photo and then offers to dowload only ones that are newer.

Tonfotos is connected to our home NAS system, so all photos from our phones are automatically imported in Tonfotos. That works well. From there, I want to be able to export only the photos that have my son in them, so I can use them further (for printing for example). However, I’ve now done that, but the folder with his photos will keep growing over time, so I’ll want to do that again periodically, where I only want to export the most recently imported pictures. But the order of the pictures under ‘People’ seems rather random and not according to the date in the meta data?

MissMarjo Actually, the ordrer is not random in personal albums, those are sorted by date. However, photo date might be wrong, this is pretty common problem.

Nevertheless, I would suggest you using Filters function instead. Select person as a filter and then you will see all photos with that person in Events tab, that has time scale on the left and overall more convenient for browsing by date.

Andrey Also, when you export photos you can add those to “already exported” album. Then in Filters mode you can exclude already exported photos by this album.

So you mean manually make a folder of already exported and add them there every time I export them? Where can I find filter mode?

MissMarjo No, before (or after) you export files, add them to an album, while they are still selected. About filters please check out this video
