I’m coming from Picasa and a nice thing with TonFotos is importing the names to faces. Over the years, many names I have forgotten, I would not have been able to rename many faces had I started fresh with face recognition when moving to TonFotos.
However, I’m getting a lot of incorrect naming. I have been affirming names to fuzzy pictures and to many photos taken when facemasks were the norm for several years. Many photos subjects are also wearing sunglasses. Is the lack of full facial features and visible eyes impairing the face recognition algorithms? And does confirming fuzzy pictures also create more errors in that I’m adding poor quality data to the face recognition process?
This is probably a hold-over from Picasa but I’m getting a lot of faces recognized where there are no faces, mostly where there is rock or hands in the photo. Perhaps with the shading and texture, TonFotos is interpreting facial features in an arrangement that matches faces of people I know.
One feature suggestion is when the all the suggested names are correct, to be able to blanket Confirm instead of one-by one. In a group photo, TonFotos does a good job and the suggested names are all correct. However, it takes separate confirmations for each name. A blanket confirmation would be handy once I’ve quickly skimmed over the suggestions and see they are all correct.
