I’m tagging away on a new 40k collection. Thank you for the new ability to add arbitrary photos to a person (Version 1.11.0). I like the feature as it gives partial functionality to adding people to photos. It’s also very good for adding scans of documents to a person’s record.
I would find it even more useful to be able to select an arbitrary rectangle on the image, declare it a person, and have it act like all the other faces of that person except for training of the AI. That way, if I have a photo with several unrecognized faces, I can add them to the photo and see where the person appears in the photo. Or in a crowd of ignored faces, I can show where the person in my collection is standing. Also, in a document, you could point out where parts of the scan apply to particular people. For example, in a scan of a ship’s immigration manifest, you could point out where Grandma and Grandpa appear.

Hi:
I would love to add my strong second to this recommendation with the hope that it might get bumped up in the priority list. It’s really frustrating to try to tag people who’s faces are off center - or turned around completely - and the AI won’t recognize it as a face to be tagged.
I’m new to the program - been searching for a better photo cataloging software for years and this is one of the three or four things that really keeps this from being a good working solution for me.
That being said - thank you for what you have created, it’s still an improvement over the other universally recommended programs for this kind of thing.
