Hi there,
I spend a lot of time approving faces and I remember a feature from Picasa that made this process much quicker. I wonder if you would consider adding it to Tonfotos. In the people view, when I click on a name, it shows several images of that person’s face with a big question mark. If there are 10 images with question marks, it requires 10 clicks to approve them. I propose a button that appears in that scenario that is labelled “Accept 10 matching faces” which would approve those 10 images with 1 click. What do you think?

Here is a wireframe of what it might look like

selwyn This suggestion pops up from time to time, however our position is that this button will do more harm than good. It will encourage users pressing it without even looking, and that could have very damaging effect on furhter suggestion results. And fixing woul requre manual check of all previously suggested faces, which could be pretty difficult. However, you can still achieve the same result with hot keys if you want - just "Down’, then “Control+A”, and then “Stift+Enter”.

Thanks Andrey, I’ll try that. I spend a lot of time indexing my photos and it would sure save me a lot of time.

If there were a button like this, wouldn’t it simply show the “wrong” face in one of those pics below and you could right click and assign it the correct name? I’d love to hear from others who used that feature in Picasa. How about making this an optional button that can be turned on for “advanced” users?

    Love the program!

So click on the first image, Ctrl+A and then Shift-Enter worked for me. Thanks. That helps a bit. One click instead of a click and 2 keystrokes would be faster but I guess if others don’t want that, I understand.

I am not sure what you mean but that. Do you assume program would itself detect which suggestions it made are incorrect and mark them up? Well, if it would know that it would not suggest them in the first place. Can you please clarify?

Sorry for the confusion. Here is an example:

You can see inthe above picture that the left image is clearly not Seymour (my cat). If I were to accidentally click the check to confirm that this is Seymour, the next screenshot would be obvious that I had “approved” the incorrect image. See below

I (as an observant human) could easily see that I had incorrectly added the wrong image and could then right click on the image and select “this is not Seymour Polit” or use backspace to unselect the image.

I hope that makes more sense.

selwyn Yep, that is true, that you can definitely fix inorrect face-person association manually. And when it is only few dozens of images, it is easy to spot them. However, it is not that uncommon to have arround 10 000 faces marked up for some person in the library. Checking every face and looking for mistakes for this amount is definitely a challenge.
