Moving from Adobe Photoshop Elements Organizer

Hey,

I have a huge library of 27000 photos from about the last 20 years.
In the past i have used phtotshop elements to organizer theese.

Since i run in Trouble with missing images in face recognition i am looking for alternatives.

I live tonsfotos for the Look and feel but have one big issue. I am using raw and have all images developed im camera raw with xmp sides.

Sadly tonfotos Shows only the embedded Image from the raw. No developed images.

I have no processing active in the camera and all images are looking flat.

Ibaxx Thank you, that is very interesting case. Can you please tell a bit more about your images and how exactly developing was done? Do I understand you right that Photoshop Elements did not update preview image inside RAW when developing and only wrote its settings into sidecar? Is there any setting maybe that can force it to update previews inside RAW files?

Hi Andrey,

Photoshop Elements is using Camera Raw for developing the images. When editing is finished, there is only a xmp file near the image. The preview inside the raw wasnt updated. (Camera Raw and also Lightroom is only updating DNG preview optional).

The Organizer, Lightroom and also Adobe Bridge shows the edited Image with the settings from the XMP.

Ibaxx Thank you for details.

The link you provided is for Adobe XMP library, Tonfotos already has own implementation of XMP parsing/writing, so there is no need in that. However it does not look like that this Adobe library includes functions to develop RAW image based on data written in XMP, this part might be proprietary. At least that would require a bit of additional research. It does not look like something that could be added easily, I am afraid. I’m not sure I can promise we can allocate time for that soon. But we will definitely keep a close look for this scenario and watch for more people requiring this.
