This software is impressive as heck.

One suggestion: I am using a shared computer and I don’t want my photo library including thumbnails and tags viewable by others. Would it be possible to implement a password feature to access Tonfotos? In a perfect world, Tonfotos could be minimized to the task bar notification area, and only accessed once the password was entered.

Many thanks!

Photon Interesting idea, thank you. Though I am not sure how many other users will find this feature useable. I guess we will need to hear what other can say about this idea.

Photon There was one slightly similar idea on another forum, but still not exactly the same. Idea was to create some sort of “Personal” album that would not be visible by default for anyone who opened program, and you would need to go to settings and turn “show hidden album” option manually, and that option would reset after each start so you would have to go and turn it on again. No passwords, just and option. Files are there on the disk anyway, who wants to access them - will, so this is just to make sure they are hidden from people who don’t know what to look for and where to look.

So you would add selected photos to that album and they would disappear from whole UI unless your turn that option on again. That would help to avoid many different unpleasant situations when people see what they are not supposed to see, but would not overcomplicate things.

What do you guys think about that alternative approach? I personally like it more than total password protection.

      Hello team!!!
I think that the best change is to BE ABLE TO HIDE THE IMAGES OF CERTAIN FACES ( E.G. MY EX-PARTNER) AND LAST.. HIDE AN EVENT OR FOLDER IN TONFOTOS—- HIDING THE IMAGES WHERE X FACE APPEARS SEEMS VERY VERY VERY VERY INTERESTING TO ME.. IT’S ONE OF MY CURRENT PROBLEMS — OF COURSE, I RECKON THAT PUTTING password when STARTING Tonfotos is simpler… (but it generates more conflicts sometimes)

The approach of hiding specific albums sounds like a great idea. Is there a way to also hide those faces inside the hidden folders from showing up in the list of people that have been tagged? i.e. once a folder is hidden, then the tagged faces within that folder are also hidden from the list of people?

Photon Yes, the idea is that when this folder is hidden, files and faces disappear as if they did not exist.
