Hello,

Both myself and my sister each keep copies of our collective photographs.

Mine on a Windows machine hers on and external drive connected to her Macbook Pro.

I installed Tonfotos and made sure to copy all the .tonfotos.ini files as well as the people.tnfp and people.bck.

However, I cannot find a folder tonfotos in ‘~/Library/Application Support’ on her machbook, and while it appears it is picking up the faces and names from the .tonfotos.ini files it is taking time to confirm many that should already be confirmed.

Any suggestions where I am going wrong.

Many thanks

Rob Ward

Bobbles I’m afraid moving database from one PC to another is not supported and there is no guarantee that everything will work fine if you will copy it like that. Let alone moving database from PC to Mac, that will not work for sure as those are completely different systems.

I’m afraid there is no way to avoid this initial indexing, unfortunately. Yes, it takes time, but helps avoid any compatibility issues.

ini files contain all the information about confirmed faces. I don’t think that after files are indexed some faces become unconfirmed again. I would guess that it is quite the opposite, it actually gives you new faces for confirmation that were not found and confirmed before.

My suggestion is just to give Tonfotos time to finish its job, everything should work fine afterwards.

    Hello Andrey,

Once again thanks for the swift reply, and such is life.

To be honest, I think my sister is enjoying going through them anyway. 😆

    Have a good day
