Can there be a quick action or some way of telling the face search to ignore a face or to have it stop showing that specific photo/face? I have many kids showing up in my kid’s face sections that aren’t my children, etc. When I click the X to say it’s not that specific kid that it matched with, sometimes that pic will show up for another one of my children. Can there be a way to tell the AI to NOT search for that face, or a way to say this photo shouldn’t be in any face recognition for any of my named faces? Maybe it’s a simple don’t use this photo/face again option.

Josh thank you for suggestion. I will need to think how to implement it best.

This is common across many similar programs.
Some have an internal database “ignore” tag, others write “ignore” to file so when you open in another program, those faces aren’t rescanned/resuggested.

I suggest/vote for the second option (write to file).

Maybe to differentiate from other products, a setting to provide user definable tags that default to be ‘hidden’ ?

    • ignore
    • work colleague
    • school friend
    • sports team
    • extended family
    • toy (this is useful if you have kids with toys that keep being rescanned)
    • animal

Whether it is a single option or multiple, there needs to be a way of reviewing them on occasions to find any mistakenly tagged.

Would also suggest a “delete” option for when someone’s elbow or something rogue is detected.

Bobb, thank you for detailed suggestion. It seems to me that for the most cases you and Josh mentioned, there is already solution: just mark it with “there is no face here” command. And this face (or animal, or toy) will be gone for good.

The challenge for most part is with legitimate faces of the people that you don’t want (at this point of time) to add to your database, but may want to do that later, but they keep showing up as suggestions here and there. This is is the part I am struggling to come up with reasonable UI approach.

By the way, you mentioned other programs are writing something to the file. Can you please be more specific, or even give an example?

Oh to lie to your computer. There is a face there, but I have to go against my morals and say there is not. Yikes 😂

Josh so you would prefer two commands that do the same (delete face from database), but just called different names (“no face here” and “ignore that face”)?

Andrey No. No need to add multiple commands for the same action. It’s semantics. “Ignore this face suggestion” or something along those lines is easier to swallow.
