traveller Actually Tonfotos supports “apple silicon” from very beginning. In downloads section you can find two distribution files for MacOS, one for Intel-based, CPU, and second one is what you are looking for.
According to my personal expereince, Tonfotos UI on my M1 Mac is more responsive than on my Windows PC, which is also quite powerful. However, I bet this has more to do with faster SSD, rather than with CPU.
However, there still are areas where “apple silicon” support can be improved - it is neural networks. On Windows if you have Nvidia GPU, you can install CUDA plugin and get significant speedup in face recognition with Tonfotos. Theoretically, we can also use something similar to employ all available ARM CPU cores and get speed boost at face recognition stage, but unfortunately, Neural Network libraries support for Apple CPU is still very weak. I hope situaltion will improve in the future and there will be some good open source NN libraries available that we can use.
