If I go into my photo archive directly and rotate photos to get the orientation right will that affect the Tonphotos database, ie would they have t to be scanned again and facial recognition repeated?
mastersian Program will automatically detect that files were changed and will reindex them next time you start it. And yes, will drop all faces from those photos and will recognise it once again. Actually, when orientation of the photo was wrong, the chances are only few percent of faces were correctly detected, once orientation is corrected, there will be much more faces and recognition will be more accurate.
If they have to be rescanned after external change … is there a way to tell Tonphotos to start rescanning with a particular folder Andrey ? Or do I have to wait for it to rescan all and find the changes by chance? This can take a while on large databases.
adrianklein Tonfotos is looking for changes in the database automatically, so you don’t need to take chances, it will find it after few minutes after start.
However, you can force any folder to be scanned for changes immediately using context meny of the folder in left navigation pane.
