Hide the .tonfotos.ini file

This is a feature request. I have thousands of pictures, categorised into folder and whenever tonfotos does the indexing, it will create this .tonfotos.ini to store the folder’s face or whatever meta info there. Can developer please hide the file? Temporary for now i had to run **"attrib +h *.tonfotos*.* /s"** everytime it is creating new or update it.

I’ve also noticed that “.tonfotos.ini” files cannot be hidden with the “hide protected operating system files (recommended)” setting in Windows 11 file explorer.
It’s not a major inconvenience - just scruffy 🙂

Just to add in more info, to hide the following file(s):

people.bck
people.tnfp
.tonfotos.ini

sephirothvr on that part I can’t agree. Unlike .ini which is mostly technical file, tnfp is actually a database with information about people. I don’t see why that one should be hidden.

Well, it’s just a feature request and up to dev to fulfill it or not. I see no reason why people database file and backup file and tonfotos.ini file needed to be access by laymen people other than to move from one location to another without having to re-scan people again, but then again that file will be copied over as well if user copied the whole folder.

For me personally, i had to keep executing this “attrib +h” or hide these file so that the folder does not auto generate ugly empty icon folder as per screenshot below.

Bilko Yep, that task is still handing somewhere in the backlog with low priority, as it does not concern majority of users.

It still bothers me!
It’s not that they take up much space, but is a lot of clutter when carrying out system searches etc.
But most importantly - it makes synchronization a lot slower to to the sheer quantity of them.

Bilko I understand the “clutter” part, making files invisible will not delete them, but they will not be visible unless you want to see them.

However, I am not sure I understand the synchronization part. Those files HAVE to be synchronized/backed up as they contain very important information. I don’t see what “hidden” attribute has to do with it. Please explain.
