Scroll in Events tab

Is there a way to scroll through all the events that Tonfotos creates? It seems, at least for me, when I pick a date in the left date column, it only offers a limited number of events in the main events pane. If I want to go back or forward in time, I need to click again in the left pane to set a new date starting point. I can scroll back and forth a few days or a week but no further without “re-setting” the date on left. Is this a setting I can change so it offers a wider range of dates?

Steve Ohio what you experience looks like an error. You should be able to scroll up and down up to the very end. Did you get any error messages? If you close program and open it again, will it be able to scroll?

Yes, re-starting corrected the issue. Not sure if it had anything to do with it but I had been editing some locations on photos when I noticed the problem, but it is working correctly now.

Steve Ohio Looks like some random glitch, unfortunately. Those are the hardest to catch. I don’t think you will encounter it once again, but if you do, please not what you did before that. That may give some clues about the core of the issue.

Here, I miss the scroll bar. Is it the same issue?

I also need to scroll in the large events overview to advance some days more. The reason is probably: Tonfotos indexes files. The Events view has a snapshot of the indexing state. All images indexed later are not automatically loaded into the event view.

Yeah, there is no scroll bar, I am on mac (m1, m2), on 1.7.2

Andrejs no that’s a separate issue. There is no scroll bar by design. Yes, I know this is unusual decision, but it makes lot of sence once you understand that the feed is virtually endless. You don’t have scroll bar in facebook either, right?

I have studied a bit how Facebook scroller is working (no wonder I never noticed it before - it is not even near to the feed, it’s all the way to the right). I think this is not really a good analogy for Tonfotos. First of all, visible portion of the feed in Tonfotos can be hundreds times larger, scroll head will be tiny. Other thing is that you are only allowed to scroll down. You can go up only for couple screens, everything before is lost to the history and you can’t go back.

However, I do get the idea that scoll indicator can actually indicate not complete length of the feed, but some smaller portion of it and then dynamically adjust position of that view as you scroll. There is definitely something to think about, which I will be doing.

Andrey first version of scoll is implemented in 1.7.4. This is naive implementation inspired by Facebook. Far from bein perfect, but still much better than nothing. I would appreciate your feedback.
