File Deletion test folder

I have used the program to identify people in photos (over a terra byte) and it worked great. I now would like to delete duplicates but I would like to test the process on a test folder. Can I change the file pointer to a test folder and once I develop my confidence bring the pointer back to my actual main folder? Thanks

BobMc What exactly you mean by test folder? An exact copy of your whole archive? You can just make backup/copy of your current archive and call your existing archive a test copy. And restore back if something goes wrong.

Anyway it is strongly recommended to setup regular backups of your archive before you starting doing anything. Not just one time backup or one time test copy, a regular backups with versioning. Mistakes happen, organizing your archive is time consuming, you don’t want to do that over again. Can I remove my main library from the pointer under the Files Menu - then point it to a test folder. Perform testing and then be able to point back to my main library and not lose the hours I have put into confirming people in my main library. I am OK on backups

BobMc Sure you can do that, this is “Library locations” dialog is for. All your efforts in assigning faces will be preserved in .ini files and will be resotored once you add you archive back again. However there is downside to that. Every time you add huge folder with photos like that you will have to wait until indexing is finished. Program will have to read every file and recognitze faces once again.
