How to setup the Wireless Backup from Smartphone?

I have installed Tonfotos and connected my Smartphoe via QR code. Whe I try to setup my backup from Smartphone, the option “folder structure” is grayed out and I cannot open the pulldown menu. What is wrong? I would like to switch off the structuring imto folders for ths backup. Thank you.

Bernd65 Currently there is only one folder structure supported. What structure you would prefer instead?

Hello Andrey, the option “folder structure” with Year/Month is OK when I import pictures to my photo album on my NSA system.
But for a regular backup from my smartphone I only want to use a simple backup from the Camera folder on my smartphone to a single folder on my NAS system, so that I can do a review on my PC to delete pictures I do not want to keep, not for the album and also not on the smartphone. I want to review the picture before I import them into my big album.
Currently I use a simple sync app to do that but if your tool can be a better solution I would switch to yours. Can TonfotosSync do that or will it be possible in the future?

Bernd65 Am I correct that you would not want any folder structure at all, just all files in one folder, correct?

However I am not sure that would make your reveiw easier, especially if there is a lot of photos.

Yes exactly, just from one folder to one folder, as it is on the smartphone side. So when I want to review and clean photos from a one week trip on my big desktop monitor, I do not have to switch from folder to folder.

Bernd65 Thank you for clarifications. Did you try though to review your photos when they are in the folders by date? I do not think this is any more difficult that in one plain folder, just try it. Tonfotos is built this way so you don’t have to switch manually between fodlers, you just scroll and scroll.

For sure I tried, but I prefer to keep the structure 1:1 for the review and to have a 2-way sync method, before I finally store the good pictures into my album. Thank you very much.

I’m on a MacBook and I decided to use Parachute Backup to keep a copy of my iCloud Photos on an external drive. Then I just added that directory to Tonfotos. Works great and doesn’t rely on iOS spotty background processing.
