skbradsher OK, thank you for details. This is definitely separate issue than one discussed initially in this thread - incorrect GPS time on professional cameras. You are using iPhone and GPS time is correct. The issue is here is what time zone to prefer when importing photos and sorting them to folders. Tonfotos uses local time zone when importing, and this is not a bug, this is by design. So your argument is that program should instead use time zone of the photo instead, but the thing is, this is not always known, and even worse, it might be incorrect. iPhone is good citizen and writes OffsetTimeDigitized into Exif, but many other phones don’t. Also, iPhone gets this data from network. If there is no network coverage in that area - this data can be incorrect.
I understand that current implementation in Tonfotos might seem not ideal, but I am afraid ideal is not really possible. Timestaps in the photos are quite often a mess, unfortunately. Going with local time usually gives more reliable result.
