I would find it helpful to have an option to exclude certain photos. I have two use cases:
I have scanned thousands of film photos from the 1990s and earlier, and my workflow involved scanning both the front and the back, because there was often information written on the back (names, dates, locations, etc). The naming convention used was “photo1.jpg” and “photo1_description.jpg”. These files are saved alongside each other in the same folder, so i can quickly refer to the back side without having to hunt and peck in a separate folder. I don’t have any need to view the “_description.jpg” files in event view. In plex, this is solved with a “.ignore” file, and it just matches on anything with “description” in the filename. But, in the interest of keeping tonfotos user-friendly, it would be nice to just right-click on a photo and choose “exclude from events”.
Another use-case is that I have pictures of family members with their ex-wife or ex-husband. I would prefer not to display those photos in front of their new spouse, as a common courtesy - but I also don’t wish to completely delete the photo of my family member. Being able to optionally exclude specific photos would be helpful in this case as well.
