What you actually see on your screen is your image converted internally down into JPEG with 8 bit depth. Tonfotos is multiplatform application, that is why there are lots of limitations. Showing anything more than 8-bit is very complicated, very OS-dependent and even hardware dependent in some cases. However, on majority of monitors you will never be able to tell the difference.
