Tonfotos integration with Apple Photos

I’m a new user to Tonfotos and so far I am impressed with its facial finding and matching features. I am a Mac user, and have been very unimpressed by the native Mac Photos app from Apple which takes far too long to scan and often develops issues with its library..I’m hoping that Tonfotos might be able to help me fix the Mac photos library by writing the names of people I identify to the meta data in the Mac library that will Mac photos app will recognize and display the person name. I often lightly edit photos on my Mac rather than my iPhone and share from the Mac as well. Has anyone done this or is the facial recognition only going to appear within Tonfotos and not propagate Apple photos? Tks for any help you can give.

Steve I am afraid, this is not possible due to Apple Photos architecture. They have extensions API, and PhotoKit API, but none of that can be used to inject information about faces and people, only to read what Apple come up with.

As an idea, you can test alternative aproach. Tonfotos can write facial data into image metadata, and other photo apps, including Adobe, can read and use this information. However, I am not sure about Apple, internet has contradicting information about that. I think it would be great if someone would try that and report here the results for the benefit of community.
