It’s probably best to keep the messages in this forum related to tonfotos. I don’t know how to send you a DM, so I will just say that Plex is designed for movies and TV shows, with photos an afterthought. You host your own server, their implementation of photos is garbage, and you can find out more via a google search.
Because Plex is so terrible with photos (can’t download photos, no face recognition, not even any search function…), I look forward to a future solution that tonfotos may be able to offer in regards to remote viewing.
I actually use jellyfin as well, only for the ability to download my own photos to my phone, since Plex removed that feature a while back. In a perfect world, I would love for a tonfotos ‘server’ that is reachable via both Roku (my family’s main viewing interface for living room TV), and also via mobile apps. Obviously this would be a huge undertaking for Andrey.
The biggest problem currently with apps like Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, etc is that they are too broad - they are built to cover all types of media, including TV shows, Movies, etc. If tonfotos could offer a comparable product that was purpose-built to specialize in photos only, I would be so happy.
