Schievelbein I am moving this to Feature request category then. There have to be enough demand for a feature for us to add it into a roadmap. So we will see if others will support.
Database is not supposed to be touched or manipulated by others. However, as you know, there is also a Dossier file, which is basically a JSON with pretty straightforward format. If someone wants to manipulate people lists, that is probably the right point of entry. Tonfotos treats it as external database and syncs its internal data with it both ways based on change date.
If you are willing to make a tool that would import people form GEDCOM to people.tnfp, I am willing to provide you necessary information.
