Background CPU processes

Would it be better to leave the PC running to give these processes time to complete what they are doing or shut it down when I am finished? Does Tonfotos need sometime to learn and process background processes? I am using an I5 with 12gb and 1 tb m2 and 3 tb external.

flutemaker If you are doing initial indexing, then yes, it makes total sense to leave your PC running until it finishes. If you are talking about face suggestion calculation, then it is not so obvious, since program depends on your input for suggestion calculation. Once it suggested new faces, it will not re-calculate it again for the same person until you accept or reject some faces.

Just leave it running day an night.
If you want it to respond faster, make antivirus-scan exceptions for the folder which the photos are in, then it will go quicker. If you feel like it takes very much time.., my workflow is to disable all the “scan faces etc”.. and only add library.. then you add “one feature first.. then after that has finished, select next…” and do the scan face at last!
