Tonfotos was running/scanning and suddenly quit

Program has been running several days/hours..then suddenly I see its gone.

tonfotos.log does not give any error, last two lines:
+1ms | Extracted face null File size = 402 width 72 height 72
+1ms | Process buffer change: 1771188174409 added null

I checked Event viewer, and found info about:
EventName LiveKernelEvent
I asked around and found:

You’re seeing a LiveKernelEvent (Code 193) with a WATCHDOG dump. That is not a Tonfotos crash — it’s a Windows kernel-level GPU/driver timeout.

In simple terms:
Your graphics driver (or GPU) stopped responding, Windows waited, then triggered a watchdog reset.
That’s why Tonfotos suddenly shut down — the GPU reset kills GPU-using apps.

Is this whats triggering random problems/stops for people ?

Stig Based on crash dump we are receiving, there is some amount of GPU-related issues, but this seems to be just a small percentage. Majority are all sorts of memory allocation issues. Program (actually, not so much a program, but electron framework or libraries we are using) tried to allocate small bit of memory, failed and crashed.

However this is really hard to say if this is relevant to the freezing issues people reporting recently or that are completely separate issue. Hard to tell at the moment, we need more data.

Hmm.. so allocating memory, beond the JVM, and actually allocating memory (Off-Heap Memory (Direct Memory)) which is only to be used by your program might be helpful so it does not get taken by others.. I don’t know how this works on memory level, but my machine is pretty stable even though I don’t have ECC memory modules. So allocating 1-2gb straight up (is bad I know) but might be helpful if you want the program to be running constantly to “load all the files/image/movies” in the beginning. ?

Stig Well, this is way more complex than this. We are talking here about memory allocation that is done outside of program itself (such is in libriares or in the framework). They all have their own memory management.

Yes, I wont dig into this more.. so I will go with what I have/how it works. Just thought I mention it so you get some other peoples view on how the program reacts.
