Especially for people with large photos/film collections.

This is not recommended but it will make Tonfotos faster. Is there another way to do this ?

Antivirus is taking up alot of network speed, which means negative processing speed for Tonfotos.
I do a complete scan of all the drives and share I have.
Then you can add expections to folder of the images (top level) and “tonfotos.exe”. This makes huge impact on the speed.

Remember - if other machines have access to the same share, this should be done with caution! as they may put files on the share that is not checked.

Is there another way around this ?

Stig This is valid question, and people reported all sorts of issues with Tonfotos due to antivirus software, including cases when it was just impossible to activate Tonfotos with serial number since antivirus was just blocking any communication with registration server. So you can guess I am not big fan of antivirus software 🙂 Actually, on my PC I am not using anything apart from what comes with Windows by default, and it seems to be qute good balance, as it still protects me, but is not very intrusive and does not try to be on my way all the time.

There are many brands of Antivirus and Antimalware software, and I am not an expert in any of them. So I can’t give any advice what is the best way to configure those. All I can say is that it is indeed can be too intrusive and it makes sense to setup special rules for Tonfotos, and this can sometimes improve performance significantly.
